POV Def. First Exhibit.

details may vary. how one perceives photography its up to their eye. its never about perfect frame or angle just as long its imaginative & full of feeling.

today, im in a presence of his own first exhibition where he openly depicts on mature subjects.

starts as a curiosity but his photography has its own little world. its smth that feeds the soul just as his music.

i feel the presence of him becoming excited taking photos of things he knew people passed by everyday & paid no attention to because they didnt see their beauty.

form what i see & what he talks about, photography gave him the escape. he took it & used to convey an idea that i see as a way of communication though which he's influencing others; a way to write his history; a freedom & ultimately an art that heels.

i see he's very affected by environment; colors; atmosphere; style. i feel some of them trigger memories or certain feelings that make him feel smth special. i find interesting pattern / arrangement of things such as daily commute, documenting ppl, play with lighting, grid lines.

just as the exhibition alone, same as in some of the compositions themselves i observe a motto when it comes to organization and thats the controlled chaos.

the themes he seems often to be influenced by are intimate, energetic, voyeuristic.

how he arranges the elements in his compositions its mainly intertwined with his theme. so its oftentimes a presence of balance, unity and variety but also he emphasizes on movement, rhythm & feeling.

some feel sacred too, so him shearing them, take a lot of comfort which what ultimately this exhibition is. growing thought the dirt. up, up, up. a process that later will have you smile, breath deep & just sigh.

just as i find his music to be invaluable, full of self awareness & peace same his photography work resonates at a deep level too.

it obviously touches on so many levels, both spirituality & emotionally, & it feels as a solace to me.

it's a great gift to me seeing & reviewing work of someone i follow musically. the sense of proud is there. imo Jaebeom as Def. is one of the many recording artists in the deep relaxation / healing mode who "gets it" & that it's why ultimately im following & here for.
