With things like the Rainbow NHS badge scheme I finally felt like I could relax a little. That I could exhale.

How can LGBT+ patients be sure that those wearing a rainbow NHS badge, or wearing a rainbow lanyard etc, will be open & accepting towards them, and they’re not just riding the NHS love train?

Seeing a rainbow flag used to be a sign that I was allowed to be myself and be safe.
Have seen plenty of staff take interest in the badge that I wear, but switch off when I explain the pledge.

If you aren’t seriously interested in being an ally, the badge isn’t for you.
