MY PERSONAL ANALYSIS ON ‘SHE’ BY HARRY STYLES! A THREAD!
OVERARCHING PLOT!

the song is about a person’s love for an addiction and what comes with it. (please note. i am not saying harry nor the man in the song are on hard drugs, they are simply in an addiction cycle)
FIRST VERSE!

“nine in the morning, a man drops his kids off at school and he's thinking of you. like all of us do... sends his assistant for coffee in the afternoon. around 1:32. he knows what to do...”
CHORUS:

“she! (she) she lives in daydreams with me. (she!) she’s the first one that i see, and i don’t know why, i don’t know who she is! (she, she!)”
SECOND CHORUS: “he takes his boat out, imagines just sailing away (away, away). not telling his mates (not telling his mates) wouldn’t know what to say (wouldn’t know what to say, to say...)”
BRIDGE: “lives for the memory, a woman who's just in his head (just in his head) and she sleeps in his bed (his bed) while he plays pretend (pretend) so pretend.....(pretend)”
FIRST INSTRUMENTAL: (FIRST VERSE!)

to me this represents the start of the addiction. where he knows something is wrong but is too in bliss to figure it out. the instrumentals sound happy and light, you don’t know how to feel and you don’t want to
SECONG INSTRUMENTAL: (CHORUS!)

this chorus continues the theme of the happy state of unawareness. however the “high” starts to pick up.
THIRD INSTRUMENTAL: (SECOND VERSE!)

this is where the high genuinely pick up. this instrumental sounds the same to the first one, but a bit distorted and futuristic. the instruments used here give me a sense that this man might never get out of this high
FOURTH INSTRUMENTAL: (BRIDGE)

finally the bridge. the man is trapped in this cycle of “the high” and cannot get out. you can hear it sounds like the first verse for a bit, but yet again, you can hear the little bits that essentially give you the feel that he can’t leave
