Whether you agree or not, I predicted Trump would be a 2 term president when he was elected, sitting next to my family as we sobbed.

Mostly b/c we saw how this was really going to impact society, in not good ways.

I may be wrong. I still predict 2 terms. 😐

Now, whether we love trump or more like despise him, there are far greater forces at play here, over a much longer period of time. A lot of what we are experiencing is many decisions made over multiple decades that have landed the US where it is today.

🤔

Really. We all have to take many, giant steps back. Many. Let’s re-evaluate our values, find that shared vision for what we want for our country and humanity, and the strategies to get there.

I do this day in and out, week after week, year after year for companies.

It’s sort of like the same approach you would take with #startups ready for funding/scale and the business of private equity firms looking for turnaround executives.

When ready, bring in folks like me, and we get job titles like: CEO/ COO, General Manager, Growth, Ops.

While every person and company wants to be a special snowflake - in many ways there are lots of special sauces (product, ppl, market...) - in terms of fundamentals, they are all the SAME.

Yes, the SAME.

And there is a proven framework that works, every time.

👇🏻5/
Yes. Same proven framework. I’ve personally used it at tech companies, management consulting companies, corporations, startup companies, crypto companies, manufacturing/e-commerce companies, etc.

I can hear your thoughts. How is it that you’ve been able to do so many?

👇🏻 6/
Well, (joke) thanks to my Asian genes that I had no say in getting, I thankfully look and often act young. 🤷🏻‍♀️🥰

I’ve been very lucky to get to go in fulltime to some roles, and as a “fractional” person in other roles.

Back to the framework.

👇🏻7/
If you can see how the United States is like a giant company, then I really believe, a similar framework/approach should be applied.

1) vision - what is that shared vision?
2) people - have great people leading and executing
3) data - agree on the data approach/framework

👇🏻8/
3) and STICK to it. Build a beat, like an orchestra conductor does.
4) problems - deal with them proactively and regularly. Encourage discussion and professional debate. We get better, together.
5) process - believe it or not, everything is a process, or lack of.

👇🏻9/
5) it’s systems thinking. It’s systemizing using repetitive important tasks and work streams. It’s appropriate documentation. It’s clear definitions and communication.
6) culture - some may call this values or traction. Ultimately it’s about discipline, ...

👇🏻10/
6) consistency, accountability, professionalism (which really is around the word “respect”), diligence and team work.

For the US, we need to revisit all of these key pillars:

1) what’s our shared vision?
2) who are the right people?
3) do we have the right data?

👇🏻11/
4) are we solving problems and moving forward?
5) do we have process and procedures, being followed?
6) are we doing it all in a disciplined, diligent, respectful way?

My two cents. Written on the fly. And my first Twitter #Thread 👊🏻🥰

Should I keep going? 🤷🏻‍♀️
