I’ve decided to make a thread of Todomomo and why it’s a valid ship with A LOT of chemistry and why people ship it because I’m tired of people saying “there’s no flavor“ “they interacted once.” #todomomo #mha #bnha

Before I start the thread I’d like to say I do not have a problem with ships with Todoroki or Yaoyorozu that I don’t ship/dislike UNLESS it’s borderline fetishizaton and pedophilia.

I assume most people started shipping during/after the episode where Shoto and Momo were paired up with each other against Aizawa. It’s CANON that they were paired up together so that Todoroki would boost her confidence since it’s CANON that Yaoyorozu admires him and is insecure

-about her own abilities since she believes she isn’t up to par with her fellow classmate (todoroki) who was also recommended. ( what a coincidence that they both came from rich families , are recommended students , and sit next to each other in class ...)

Adding onto that episode, there were a lot of worthy ship moments in my opinion. Shoto’s confession for example (audio in the video below.)Both the sub and the dub version had so much genuine emotion in todoroki’s voice it almost sounded like a “Hey I admire you too” confession

-and let’s add the fact that Momo literally cried not once BUT TWICE because of Todoroki’s words. That’s true admiration and it’s too obvious. She cried because the person who she admires the most thinks and cares about her too.

Little/subtle interactions! YES! These matter! They matter because this is a shonen anime that does NOT focus too much on romance, but there is a likeliness that there will be romance eventually. Without incorporating too much into the plot they add little crumbs for us.

- Here’s some examples!! Again take into consideration that these are side characters apart from the 2 main characters, so yes their ship moments will be very subtle , but not hard to miss at all

ALWAYS TOGETHER
there’s no coincidence that Horikoshi draws them together ALL... THE ... TIME... even when there’s a group art of all the characters, Todomomo are most likely next to each other. Also like I mentioned before they literally sit next to each other in class

My hero Academia smash as you know isn’t 100% canon. (I say isn’t 100% because there are some parts that contribute to the anime such as bakugou working a bunch of jobs to raises money to pay back kirishima) but there are a lot of Todomomo moments in there that are MAJOR CRUMBS.

Horikoshi approved MHA smash and also works with the author so yes , he has a lot to do with it! Here are some key Todomomo moments that scream “WE WANT THIS CANON , BUT LETS FOCUS ON THE MAIN PLOT FOR NOW OWN , SO TAKE THIS!”

I want to explain them!
This one is pretty self explanatory lmao . “We’re made for each other.” There’s no friendship explanation for that one so let’s keep it pushin !

Mina asked the girls who they had a crush on. We all know why Ururaka is blushing because she canonically does have a crush on Deku and is the canon love interest . So Why is yaoyorozu blushing? Who’s the one boy she’s made it clear many times before her admiration and trust?

Let’s get into Mr. Todoroki’s voice actor and the very subtle hints at Todomomo. If you don’t know, Todoroki’s voice actor absolutely adores Yaoyorozu and is REALLY close with Yaoyorozu’s voice actress

Now the hints. I’m going to call these hints because at this point with all the circumstances these can’t just be anything else , BUT hints. Here’s some things that Todoroki’s Japanese voice actor has said —-> ( separate tweets because there’s a lot to unpack )

EX: 1 . Clearly Todoroki’s Va Is a HUGE Yaoyorozu fanboy. He’s literally so genuinely in love with her character kinda like how anime fans have a comfort character, yaoyorozu is his comfort character! And I think it’s so cute and I know it will support Todomomo in some way.

This video is one of my favorites because I don’t know about you but for a few seconds he looked genuinely mad at how the others were also admiring Yaoyorozu and tried to pass it off as a joke lmao. But that’s literally how people are with comfort characters so you can’t blame!

And before any cum for brains say something like “well how are these Todomomo hints? It’s just a coincidence Todoroki’s VA loves Momo” let’s review these next audios of Todoroki’s VA and try to tell yourself that again.Exhibit A: getting jealous and over protective “My momo”

Exhibit B: Deepening his voice to make it accurately sound like Todoroki’s voice and saying things to imply his admiration for her “Damn that yaoyorozu woman...” *in a very seductive todoroki voice *

And now it’s a date. It’s literally a date and no other explanation. First he tells her she’s beautiful, then offers ( or demands ) to escort her to the festival (she says yes ) you heard it here, Todoroki and Yaoyorozu canonically went on a date together

at the end of the Todomomo CD drama Ururaka asks todoroki who he went to the festival with and before he could answer yaoyorozu coincidentally shows up out the blue . She asks what they’re on about and they’re all giggly ( again this is canon to the anime )

I accidentally put 2 tweets that go with this separately so in summary: Todoroki and Momo “coincidentally” met up by the festival after they’ve BOTH been hesitant about going. Todoroki notices her, yaoyorozu gets shy, todoroki subtly tells her she’s beautiful in her yukata-

After telling her she gets all shy and her voice shakes thanking him. She starts mumbling and in concern todoroki asks her what’s wrong. He then offers to escort her to the festival and she’s taken aback because he basically asked her on a date . She says yes and they go

And like I said before Ururaka and Hagakure saw them on the date and the next day they were all giggly clearly they both likes seeing them together so I’m going to say they canonically ship Todomomo ! And to that ! I say! Same !

And there you have it! Pretty much a valid ship with probably as much ship moments as Izuocha. Please stop calling people “homophobic” for shipping this. I am a bisexual male, I cannot be homophobic.stop sending death threats because you’re threatened by it. It’s just anime.

Stop forcing gay ships and over sexualizing it to people who do not ship Tododeku or Bakudeku. Both of those ships are highly fetishize and are mostly supporting r’pe, abuse, and the fetishization of gay teenagers. No one’s sexuality in this anime is confirmed except toga.
