Yeah the video of Michael Healy Rae may seem over to the top, and i have plenty of quarrels with his views on items but for those who don't know Deputy Healy Rae offers a bus service for those requiring (life changing) surgery on their eyes that is available up North 1/4
It is a well known scheme in Kerry he runs and while i think people pay for the bus and the HSE pay for the surgery I feel he was actually right to be so angry. The HSE has huge waiting lists, he helps people to get off one for a surgery that changes their lives 2/4
Micheal Martin may find it funny to have a joke about Healy Rae looking after people in a parish pump way but what we should all be taking from this is there is a huge need for SlĂĄintecare, an item the Taoiseach has delayed. Not that deputy Healy rae is overly dramatic. 3/4
I say this all while acknowleging that Deputy Healy Rae's style of politics wouldn't fix slĂĄintecare and that his scheme is not perfect. The Taoiseach should have realised you don't mess about life changing health items. 4/4
