ngl i feel some of the ging hate carries the same vibes as shaming teen parents, since he was also a teen when he had gon. i feel it& #39;s actually kind of harmful and stigmatising? (1/?)
most importantly i feel, is that you& #39;ll never know all the circumstances teen parents face that lead to having a child. maybe it was a parental/support system/educational failure. maybe it was something more unfortunate. or maybe they actually wanted a kid, cause that& #39;s valid too
judging harshly when you lack so much information is pretty... compassionless imo. the longer i exist, the more i recognise there is a greater systemic reason for why people end up in unfortunate circumstances. that is not to say individual blame is entirely erased
or that having a child is something unfortunate!
but surely it& #39;s more valuable to be gentle, supportive, and understanding? (as long as you have the emotional resource to do this)

also, here& #39;s some reasons why i think it& #39;s valid for teens to give up a child for adoption:
-lack of money and emotional capacity
-general circumstantial insecurity
-lacking support system
-the child was always unwanted, but abortion was decided against

i hold a lot of respect and sympathy for those who recognise their limits and shortcomings. this definitely would not be a light decision to make
anyway, relating these points back to ging:
-we still don& #39;t know the full circumstances behind gon& #39;s origin, or anything much about gon& #39;s mother
-ging judged his living conditions as (temporarily) detrimental to raising gon
-we only get these tidbits in chapters 1 and 65:

an interesting contrast to note is that while mito was also very young at the time (so i believe the granny would have taken a more active role in raising gon at first), her living conditions provided a stable environment in which raising gon could be the focus
i feel both mito and a lot of the fandom are quick to severely judge ging, but it& #39;s understandable since it is a very personal topic. for now my judgement is suspended, tho he still could have paid some child support money i guess
