One of my favorite buys in fantasy football right now is Evan Engram for the New York Giants. A short thread on why I think Engram is a great second half bounce back candidate right now... ⬇️⬇️
First, we’ll see how Engram has played so far, and like the rest of the Giants offense, it hasn’t been good. Engram currently ranks as the TE22 (🤮) on the season, averaging less PPR points per game than Greg Olsen, Jordan Akins, and Eric Ebron.
However, it’s not only been him, as the rest of the Giants offense has looked terrible, and they’ve had a terrible schedule to go up against to begin the season by playing Pittsburgh, Chicago, San Francisco, and the Los Angeles Rams, all of which are known for a strong defense.
The schedule for the Giants opens up a lot over the next six weeks, and especially for Engram: Dallas, Washington, Philly, Tampa Bay, Washington again, and Philly again. Dallas is 28th against TEs, Washington is 30th, and Philly is 31st through the first four weeks.
Not only does Engram have the schedule in his favor, but he also has the opportunity. Engram is currently averaging 7.5 targets per game, which is the third most among all TEs in football, behind only Darren Waller (10, TE3 in fantasy overall) and Travis Kelce (8.3, TE1 overall).
The injury of Barkley put the Giants in the unenviable position of not being able to run the football. With their offensive line, it was hard enough to do with on of the best RBs in football, but it’s only gotten worse. This forces the Giants to pass more than they would like to
So in conclusion, the matchups, the opportunity, the situation, and the talent of Evan Engram make him a very valuable asset to have going forward in fantasy football, and a lot of people have left him for dead. I would be sending offers to try and acquire him for cheap this week
