some stuff about covid from someone who had it: a quick thread
so we’ve all seen and/or heard trump flaunting his seemingly miraculous recovery. all of this is based on news i’ve read and my own experience so please do not yell at me if i mess up on some details
according to doctor conley, trump has had symptoms of covid-19, which is something worth considering throughout all of this
i had my most mild symptoms when i initially tested positive – i was a little bit congested and had a slight headache. after getting tested but before i received my results, i realized my sense of taste was completely gone
after i tested positive, i was placed in isolation by my university, and things quickly got worse. by about day 5 i had intense chest tightness and pain, and was unable to take a full breath. i was constantly exhausted and struggling to breathe, but was never given a doctor
my symptoms cleared up and, after a 10-day isolation, i was cleared as being no longer contagious and was sent back to my dorm. i thought i was done with covid. ohhhhh no. i certainly was not.
it has now been nearly a month since i tested positive. my resting heart rate has increased from being in the low-60s to the mid-80s. i still struggle to take a full breath. i am constantly exhausted and struggle to complete basic daily tasks
i am 20 years old. i have no underlying medical conditions that put me at increased risk for COVID-19. i followed CDC guidelines by wearing a mask, avoiding gatherings, social distancing, and sanitizing regularly. and despite all of this, i’m still struggling to recover
so. forgive me if i’m a little bit skeptical of trump and his rapid “recovery” after he was hospitalized and treated with supplemental oxygen and steroids. coronavirus isn’t a quick and easy disease. nearly a month later, i’m still nowhere near 100% recovered
and if that’s what COVID can do to a 20-year-old, then who KNOWS what it can do to the president. i feel pretty confident that whatever is going on with trump had only just started. (end thread)
