After I blew the whistle on Brexit and exposed the deep corruption of the political establishment, my life became a fight for truth and justice. And I found that it was creatives, artists & musicians that were truly manifesting what freedom and happiness looked like.

Most of us are taught as children that creativity, artistry, fashion, theatre are all luxuries not afforded to those that seek to have stable and secure lives. This, through my own journey, I have learnt is a big fat lie. Fundamental to stability and security is finding joy.

Artists, creatives, musicians, actors and whoever else in the arts are all responsible for a very fundamental part of democracy: the idea of what can be and should be. And without them democracy holds no value. It is why the conservatives always attack them. Why they defund them.

They are at the frontline of manifesting what is possible, outside the realms of daily life - they create for all of us worlds that we didn't know could exist. That is what makes their work so vital, so important in tackling the systemic corruption of politics...

It gives the public something to imagine, to envision and to act toward. And that is precisely why they are a threat to the right.

I found deeper purpose through my friends that are musicians, artists, creatives, actors. They have become my companions, my lovers, my family and in their imagination I have found greater purpose. As have millions of people who are fans of their work. Imagination is progress.

And it is imagination that is the enemy of the right.
