Another common question: "How can I support a loved one who is depressed?" So many of us are going through it right now, of course this is a relevant question. We share some thoughts in this video. #worldmentalhealthday
IMPORTANT NOTE: SUPPORT MUST COME WITH BOUNDARIES! Loving others means offering what you can, in good faith and goodwill - it does NOT mean pouring yourself out until your cup is empty.
Boundaries come in many forms, so consider what yours need to be in order to maintain your own sense of wellbeing (e.g. time as a boundary means that you dedicate a set amount of time per day/week to helping your loved one, so that you have enough time to tend to other things)
As we mention in the video, depression is such a thick fog that your loved one likely will not be able to fully receive, nor will they consciously reciprocate your support. That's okay! Give what you can, saving enough energy for yourself.
