a thread on why cis people shouldn't be writing / reading omegaverse (a/b/o) and why it is fucked up made by a trans mlm

wikipedia defines omegaverse as "a subgenre of erotic fiction premised on societies wherein humans are divided into a dominance hierarchy of dominant 'alphas', neutral 'betas', and submissive 'omegas'".

the reason why this is misogynistic is because the omegas, who are extremely feminised, are depicted as submissive, fragile, and as powerless over their own selves whereas the masculine alphas are shown to be strong and dominating

it's also homophobic to stereotype mlm couples to depict one partner as masculine and the other one as feminine which is not always the case and is extremely heteronormative

omegaverse also furthers the stereotype that mlm are predatory or unable to control their own instincts and to a huge extent normalises and even glorifies sexual assault

omegaverse is transphobic because it literally ignores the existence of trans men and instead establishes that there is a category of cis men (who are usually second-class citizens) with vaginas and the ability to self-lubricate and give birth

this thread is not targeted at trans mlm / masc-aligned n-blm who read or write a/b/o as an escape or a coping mechanism, it's for cishet people who do it for the sole purpose of satisfying their weird fetishes

the fact that a lot of the people who write / read a/b/o are cis women is extremely weird and creepy so please just stop speaking over trans people and mlm / masc-aligned n-blm and maybe think about why we are so uncomfortable with this
