5) This is the pretext for Trump to I) Rig the outcome of the vote by manipulating the electoral college II) Crush any protests under the pretext of preventing a coup

6) It will require, as a US contact says, a lot of people to do a lot of bad things- and this scenario will only come into play if he loses the popular vote

7) We should note too that Russian intervention on social media is more sophisticated than in 2016 and harder to detect- and that the polls may change.

8) But at time of writing Biden's lead seems insurmountable and Trump has damaged his ratings hugely (though I am amazed that anyone at all can still consider voting for him)
