Line stretches around several buildings but is moving
Sabrina Bowers-Grant, 50, of Green Township waited 40 minutes so far to vote. She normally votes on Election Day. She said the confusion during the primary this year kept her from voting. So she wanted to get here early. She's voting for Biden.
Bowers-Grant:"It just was a mess, we weren’t going through that, this is very important this is just a very important time in America."
Anger brought some people out today. Mark McNeil, of Pleasant Ridge, who I talked to earlier, blamed Trump for racial division in the country. "People are angry. I think that’s why a lot of people are standing in line, because people are angry."
"I’m sick of it all. I just want civility back in the White House."
Many people told me they were willing to wait in line to make sure their vote was cast. They didn’t trust the postal service or were afraid the pandemic would cause similar confusion to the primary
Laureen Niehaus-Beckner,60, of Northside said she has voted by mail the past three years. This year she was willing to brave the pandemic I vote for Biden “To me this is of an importance I need to be out here putting my health at risk to make sure my vote counts”
Deborah Davis, 67, of the West End said she normally votes on Election Day. But with the pandemic, she’s worried about waiting until then. She didn’t want to say who she’s voting for.
“I’m here to make sure my vote counts. You’re not sure what’s going to happen.”
