Unpopular thread time: I've seen a lot of videos photos etc on protests related to the recent spate of farm murders. And I get that raising awareness brings light to the issue. But I can rest assure you, it will not help the problem at all.
Farmers need to realise that no matter how much they protest, it will do nothing to combat the recent scourge of farm murders. Same goes for Protests against gender based violence
They need to realise that the only way they will fight this is by getting the required training, developing the mindset and getting a firearm (or multiple firearms). They also need to realise they need to carry everywhere they go and have it readily accessible when they sleep.
Unfortunately, you can have the best police force in the world but even than, response times will be long due to the vast open spaces farms are located on.
While I'm for bringing back the commandos, farmers and South Africans need to realise that no one is coming to save them. We are on our own.
So instead of wasting money organising protests, start using that money to apply for firearms for you and your wife. Go for training on how to use them and how to become tactically aware.
Learn how to stop bleeding. Always be alert. And always carry. A firearm in a safe is about as useful as using a cushion to change a light bulb.
And this thread can apply to all Souh Africans. It's about time we start taking responsibility for ourselves.
