I've voted in every Canadian election since I was 18 and I've never registered for shit. "Voter registration" is voter suppression.
Oh shit this is the first time I've not noticed a tweet go viral til hours later lmao. Just to clarify for the pedants, yes I'm technically registered but the gov does it automatically. I've moved 6 times in the last 10 years and never had to lift a finger to register myself.
This is the kind of stuff that's normalized in the US. It's fucked up, intentionally racist (as are pretty much all forms of voter suppression) and classist, and should be fought against tooth and nail: https://twitter.com/hshaban/status/1313298054846525442?s=20
For the record, Canada is a genocidal settler colonial state that sucks in many ways so let's not act like we've got it all figured out lol. But it's important to be able to look at the way things are done elsewhere. Automatic registration is something the US absolutely needs.

If I had to register myself to vote every election, the number of times my ADHD ass would have voted by now might easily be zero. When you pretend civic engagement "isn't that hard," you're parroting republican talking points.
I sure hope all these lovely new followers today really fucking hate capitalism because you're gonna hear about it a lot from me! https://twitter.com/Jewonemein/status/1313562377103667200?s=20
