BUT...

Throughout yday, my main thought was not who will or could #MUFC sign. It was, how can we get the current players back to where they were 2nd half of last season. The team that finished 3rd, unbeaten in 14, & set a record as 1st ever PL team to win 4 straight by 3+ goals...

So many should take their game to the next level this yr - Greenwood, Rashford, Matial, Williams, AWB. Theyre good enough to be better. DDG will be back, or dropped. First full yrs for two exceptional talents, Bruno & Mason. Van De Baak (wanted by Barca) already adding quality...

So many improved under the current coaching staff last season - those young players mentioned above, as well as Shaw, Fred, McTominay, Lindelof. You may have forgotten by now, but that happened. Training & hard work is as important as any transfer could have been yday...

It was already a better squad than the 2nd half of last season before deadline day. That’s what needs the focus now: re-building fitness, sharpness, confidence & momentum. Results so far this season are not an accurate reflection of ability & potential. Note - Liverpool, City...

Natural projection for a team that was so young last season, should be top-4, getting closer to the leaders, & again trying to win a trophy. Next season, to challenge. It’s been 3 of 38 league games, & Everton are the only “consistent” team! The doom & gloom isn’t necessary...

This #MUFC squad has huge ability& potential, & that has only been added to. Stay the course, stick with the plan, get back to basics, & continue developing. If they back down from the long-term plan, I’ll be critical. Otherwise, I still believe this is an admirable way forward.
