While it may be impossible to tell who exactly made up the populations of Ancient Egypt it is safe to say the modern consensus that they were West Africans or African Americans is FALSE.
West African architecture and artwork has nothing in common with Ancient Egyptian architecture and artwork. East Africa, in particular Sudan has way more in relation to Ancient Egyptians. Many people don't know that Sudan actually has more pyramids than Egypt (see pics below)
The Ancient Egyptians also spoke about the countries they were trading with and these countries are now located in modern day East Africa. The Land Punt, which the Egyptians also referred to as the 'Land of the Gods' was where the Egyptians would import and export their goods
Ancient Egyptian artwork and cultutral artefacts will show you straight away the resemblences with modern East African customs and traditions. This can be seen in these pictures of Egyptian women and modern East African women. Similar hairstyles and clothing are still worn today
These similarities are even seen amongst the men. The hairstyles and the clothing are still seen today
This idea that because modern Egyptians appear middle Eastern that the ancient Egyptians were West African/African American is farcical. Africa is the most diverse continent on the planet and to simply say the Ancient Egpytians were 'black' is a fallacy
The ancient Egyptians were an example of this diversity. It is likely that their society was one that encompassed many cultures not simply one race.
Modern Egyptians also most likely did make up some of the Ancient Egpytian society. While the spread of Isalm to the region did undoubtedly affect the make up of the nation to say it fully removed the natives is unlikely
