My Very Own Hero: a thread(with pictures and gifs) 1/23

Welcome back! And if you’re new: hi!Here’s an underrated anime thread coming at you. This was a people’s choice vote and one of my favorite boy love anime’s of all time. Why you ask? Well. Get comfortable and go grab something sweet to snack on and let’s talk! 2/23

Summary: Masahiro is a teenager who is often bullied as an errand boy. Defenseless, Masahiro knows that nobody will ever save him. However, his life drastically changes when he meets Kousuke, a man known as the "Bear Killer," who takes down the gang... 3/23

... A year later, Masahiro and his friend, Kensuke, attend high school, only to find that Kousuke is their math teacher. While the three grow closer, Masahiro starts to view Kousuke as his "hero," and Kousuke develops a desire to protect Masahiro... 4/23

...However, their normal lives take a turn when Kensuke's childhood friend Asaya, returns, seeing Kensuke as more than just a friend. Will the three boys be able to live a regular life? Or will forbidden love keep them apart? 5/23

Okay. Okay. Okay. I know what you’re thinking: why haven’t I watched this anime already? Why the hell am I just hearing about this now?

And I’m here to tell you, I *feel* your agony and pain my friend! Seriously I really do! 6/23

But it’s fine! I’m here to give you *all* the dirty details, but before I do, this thread will contain MAJOR spoilers and if you’re not into that then I highly recommend you come back to this thread later. I’ll warn you beforehand w/ the as always! 7/23

It’s been quite a long time since I watched this masterpiece so bare with me my friends! I’ll do my best to remember the events in chronological order. But of course I’m only human and I’ll definitely be going out of order. No problem here! I’m not stressing out 8/23

This is going to be a doozy since it’s technically 2stories, but let’s start with our MC: Masahiro. Like earlier in the thread, he’s constantly bullied around and basically has no backbone because he’s too nice to say no or disobey anyone from the neighborhood gang. 9/23

And Kousuke rescues, Masahiro when he was younger (I think in Middle School) and continues to show him the right path until later Masahiro stops coming around. And a year later, the three boys meet again in high school! 10/23

Oh! right! Kousuke and Kensuke are brothers. Kousuke is the oldest and Kensuke is the youngest—the same age as Masahiro. And Kousuke is their math teacher. Hopefully that helps some. And if not, it’s okay. Stay with me and we’ll get thru this together 11/23

Asaya is Kensuke’s childhood friend and they start going to the same high school together. But Kensuke is reluctant to talk to him because of something that happened in the past between the boys. And my lips are sealed! Sorry! 12/23

1- Let me start this off w/ Asaya and Kensuke’s relationship. I totally thought it was SUPER FUCKING CUTE. OMG! I loved them together, even though I thought Asaya was being a little creepy in the beginning when he didn’t ask Kensuke for his consent, 14/23

2- but other than that, I thought their romance was beautifully done. And wasn’t long at all. Kensuke fell for Asaya pretty quickly. Even though Kensuke was adamant about just being friends with him. But whatever. They got together and my is full. 15/23

3- ok lastly our main relationship is Masahiro and Kousuke. After Asaya and Kensuke date, Masahiro starts having feelings for (cough cough) a teacher! The scandal! But no in all seriousness, I cringed a bit because even tho Masahiro and Kousuke knew each other 16/23

4-back when they were younger, it was still a bit cringe-y to watch them together as student-teacher. And Masahiro stated facts when he started distancing himself from Kousuke. I didn’t blame him at all. If they got caught, Kousuke would get into trouble 17/23

5- and when one of Masahiro’s friends later acts all homophobic, I started to get mad. I literally almost punched the screen. But I was glad that all Masahiro’s other friends were just cool w/ it when they found out about Masahiro dating Kousuke18/23

6- and the friend did come around eventually after thinking it over. The ending tho was my favorite part when Kousuke proposed to Masahiro and Masahiro told Kousuke to never die before him...Y’all when I tell you I cried, I legit fucking cried. PROTECT THEM AT ALL COST! 19/23

The graphics are nice, coming in at 12 eps. It’s a easy binge. Also, I watched it in dub. It has a nice dub cast IMO. And the OP was super cute! I liked the characters but overall I have to say I liked the dog just a smidge more. 20/23

This was such an enjoyable experience and it was my first yaoi anime with no expectations. I only hoped it wasn’t depressing or sad. And it was adorable, heartwarming, funny, a little cringe-y, but for the most part, it will make your day a little bit brighter. 21/23

I say give it a watch! I can’t compare it to any other anime because there’s there isn’t one out there like it. I can’t recommend this anime enough. If you LOVE boy love or just watching people fall in love in general then this anime is for you! 22/23

Y’all! This anime deserves all the hype and all the love in the world!!! It needs to be over hyped!!! Idc! It’s slept on which is infuriating AF! This is one I’m sure you will remember for a v long long time. And seriously: PROTECT THESE TWO AT ALL COSTS!!!!!! 23/23
