My fear, with Biden - setting aside my problems with him as a person and with his legislative history, which are vast -

Is that four years of Nothing Changes and already-promised austerity, under a likely depression, will lead to the inauguration of Tom Cotton.

This isn’t doomsaying. These are things Biden has promised, combined with the realities of politics and extremism throughout modern history.

Neoliberal policies, during bad times, directly empower extreme right-wing populists.

To stand any chance of avoiding that, you would - if Biden were elected - need to treat him as the lamest of lame ducks. The war for 2024 would need to start in January of 2021 and be fought brutally.

And I don’t, for even a moment, trust liberals to do it.

I trust them to lean back and congratulate themselves that Bad Orange Man is gone and never for a moment consider the material conditions that created Trump.

I trust them only to go back to sleep like during Obama and Clinton, and wake up to ask why the world is burning.
