My neighbour is a single widower of 4 kids under 13. We have exchanged casual pleasantries regularly. Tonight he rang my doorbell at 8 p.m. and asked if I could come with my daughter to his place and watch his kids for 20 minutes so he could run to the store to grab groceries. I
Sensed it really pained him to ask for help. And it made me pause for a minute because of COVID...and then I realized that no one asks a semi stranger to enter their home and watch their children unless they really, really need the help.
So we did because you cannot BUY
good neighbours and those kids have a dad that wanted to make sure there was food for their lunches.
He returned in 20 minutes, thanked me profusely and awkwardly handed me a box of sour patch kids as a thank you.
It isn't that hard to show kindness and be a decent human. TRY IT
