I say "our" course, because I'm teaching collaboratively with the wonderful Natasha Stirrett & Jacqueline Briggs. We are each running a different iteration of the same course & instead of working in silos & reproducing the same individualist & competitive nonsense of academia...
We decided, in the context of COVID-19, to develop course content in conversation with each other, meaning we have worked together as a team, each version of the course has the same syllabus, bringing our own strengths, listening to each other & learning as we go.
We each do different lectures, interviews, and did a collaborative intro video. I've seen a lot of tips shared on here about remote teaching, but haven't seen much about building online pedagogical content in collaboration and conversation. So, thought I'd share our approach.
Because working collaboratively in conversation and collab with others has not only reduced isolation in these tough times, but has also made our course much richer, more engaging, has helped our own learning, and is also undoing some of my least favourite parts of academia.
