Wow, I think the biggest tragedy of Soowon and Yona is that they were both failed by their own parents.

Soowon by his mother and Yona by her father.
I'm thinking how different things could have been if Yonhi had tried to speak to Soowon. She said that she couldn't recognise her own child, but we are talking about a child who was told that his uncle murdered his father but had to deny his own grief to take care of her.
Imagine if Il had not resigned to his fate so easily and embraced Soowon, instead of rejecting him. Yonhi had asked him to look for a reconciliation but he just ignores?? and completely rebukes Soowon? Of course that would have then antagonized Soowon even more.
IL also fails Yona by completely sheltering her. He doesn't teach her to take up weapons or anything about the rl. The only saving grace he really does have her father is entrusting Yona to Hak. But what did he really expect was going to happen once Soowon killed him?
He probably thought that Hak would be able to protect Yona. He was right but what if Hak had failed that night? What if he didn't come at the right time? The more you think about it, the more it becomes clear how much these kids were failed by the adults' mistakes.
I'm thinking about how these three kids who loved each other, got caught up in this cycle of revenge and hate and it is so heartbreaking.

Soowon becomes a murderer, Yona loses her father and Hak loses all trust.
