i was reading a book abt the greatest empires and it was the part about alexander the great where i came across a line

"after alexander's death at age 33, his military machine fell apart" which reminds me of haikyuu... specifically seij*h (censored so their stans dont come @ me)
disclaimer i do not think seij*h is weak, and i have seen takes like "they wont survive past the first day of nationals" which i do not agree with, and i will say a few things first.

seijoh is not weak, they just dont have the weapons to go around (and against) shiratorizawa
like you could actually said that karasuno went AROUND stz and didnt face them head on, they limited what ushijima can do and capitalised on their own weapons, which was something seij*h lacks, because of the way they are trained. they were not trained on individual strengths-
as opposed to stz. seij*h, like k*rasuno and in*rizaki, depends on their setters to bring out the utmost potential from their players. as opposed to schools like stz and itachiy*ma, who have their setters adhere and accommodate to their spikers. and obviously, after o*kawa left
they just didnt have anyone else they could rely on to bring out their talents the way o*kawa did.

and we know that furudate draws inspiration from alexander the great for o*kawa's character, and who is to say that this is not furudate's intent, to make seij*h fall apart
after o*kawa leave.

again, this does not mean that they are weak without o*kawa, but the simple fact remains is that the way they play volleyball, their school's style, is centered around the setter way too much for them to be able to jsut pull this off with any other setter
oof adding to this thread, again w the seij0h wont last a day at nationals take, is actually quite dumb bcs the only opponent that they truly had trouble in containing is stz. krsn was a tough opponent, yes, but their match came down to luck, it was a ぎりぎり moment
it just so happened that hinata spiked it so it deflected off of kindaichi's fingers. if it didnt, if it went through without any touch, it would have went straight to oikawa's receive and seij0h could have turned the game around.

when it comes to that loss, it was down to luck
the only real problem is stz, because for all we know stz might have been one of the favourites to win in nationals after all. sakusa thinks very highly of ushijima and considers him his rival, and it*chiyama is the in-high champions ffs.
drawing the conclusion that stz is always a strong and formidable opponent, even in nationals, so it makes sense that its hard to win against them

seij0h is not weak, theyre just short on luck, and next gen seij0h was not trained the way they should to win w/o a setter like oiks
