JEFFREE STAR ALLEGATIONS & RECEIPTS: a thread

It's been a few days since my investigation dropped, and I've been blown away by the response. Since some are saying it was overshadowed by some OTHER J* drama, I decided to make an ICYMI thread. MAJOR TW for sexual assault.

Between 2007 and 2013(ish), Jeffree had live performances with a pretty young audience, according to people who booked him & attended the shows. During this period, 4 people told me they witnessed Jeffree grope men w/out their consent. There's this infamous video.

One man, Britain Strah, told me Jeffree non-consensually groped him before a show in 2007. He described it as sexual assault, and says it's "very uncomfortable" to see ads for Jeffree Star Cosmetics to this day.

I also talked to Britain's best friend who was there that night and remembered Britain telling him what happened. This is what Jeffree said about people groping HIM during concerts.

Zach Neil, a former Warped Tour manager who used to be a part of the team that booked Jeffree on tours, told me that he thinks the music industry really severed ties with J* because of how he treated underage fans. Britain had only just turned 18 when he says Jeffree groped him.

Zach also told me that Jeffree caused problems one summer around 2009/2010 because Warped Tour management let him have a stun gun, or close-range taser. "Apparently, he was going around stunning everyone."

Five people told me they personally witnessed Jeffree using either a taser or that same close-range stun gun tasing device on someone — either randomly, like at Warped Tour, or on a man who rejected Jeffree's romantic advances.

One of the men who rejected Jeffree and got tased was Gage Arthur, who Jeffree tweeted about going to a movie with in November 2009. Jeffree deleted this tweet *checks note* 1 month ago, when I asked him about it.

But Gage reached out right before we published the story and tried to change his. First, he texted me that he'd talked to Jeffree's lawyers. Then, he said he wasn't remembering things correctly. THEN I got sent this.

Within 3 hours of telling me Jeffree's lawyers had called him, Gage had messaged at least 2 of my other sources, discussing a $10,000 offer from Jeffree to recant all the allegations.

So Gage + two others told me they didn't want to be involved in the story anymore. But I'd already talked to all the other people who were at the movie theater that night, and they all told me that Gage got tased in the parking lot. Jeffree tweeted this later that day.

He ALSO tweeted this picture of him and Gage. Before being contacted by Jeffree's lawyers, Gage told me that Jeffree gave him two Ambien pills that night, then performed non-consensual oral sex on him.

Two of Gage's old roommates/friends told me that Gage explained what happened to him to them all the way back in 2009, too. It was even an internet rumor.

And when Gage first met Jeffree in 2008, when he was 17, he says Jeffree asked him to make out with him on camera (this was streamed on Jeffree's Stickam) in exchange for Jeffree buying him alcohol. One of the guys in the video confirmed to me that it was 17-year-old Gage.

Jeffree’s lawyer denied all the allegations in this story. They’ve been sending this statement to people requesting comment. But they never denied the $10,000 payoffs.

And while Jeffree blocked me and told Keemstar he was gonna “sue everyone,” he hasn’t spoken out on any of this either. He did tweet about sending people $10,000 for a giveaway in advance of the article, though! https://twitter.com/kattenbarge/status/1312072508204515329

If you've read this far, thank you so much. It's incredibly difficult, stressful, anxiety-inducing, and frustrating to report on sexual assault. But it's even more difficult for survivors to relive their trauma and share it with the world.
