Having just read another diatribe against "flaky" friends who cancel last minute, let me say:

I love that I have friends who have enough experience with lives, bodies, minds, and society not cooperating to be there for me when times are rough. 1/6
I love that I have friends who know what it means to live a life that resembles trench warfare and will celebrate the gains and be there through the losses. 2/6
I love that I have friends with great war stories to swap over drinks, even when the drink in question is magnesium citrate, and who are skilled at gallows humour. 3/6
And I am honoured to have friends who trust me enough to make plans they know they might have to break, break them, and make them again. Because I know how some people treat them for this. 4/6
Those people who won't be friends with anyone whose life isn't super predictable and who are also jerks to anyone with a complex life? They are missing out -- and it's their own fault. 5/6
2 my friends who're "flakes" because disability/marginalization means it's not easy to work this stuff out: I'm sorry that you go through all that. I wish you had the chance to be bland/boring. Given that U R who U R, TY 4 putting in all of that effort to enrich my life. 6/6
