Reminder to interns/recent grads that you don& #39;t need extensive experience in a beat to apply to a job. Most orgs (I find) care that you want to learn and are interested.

Adding on to this: My experience is not typical and I benefit from white privilege. I do hope that hiring decisions going forward make journalism more equitable and have tried to help young journalists of color find opportunities. I was only hoping to encourage people to apply.
