The issues with Dr. Conley are not a result of him being a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) rather than a Doctor of Medicine (MD). The DO _did_ begin life as pseudoscience and quackery, but that is not the case anymore. Entrance requirements for both programs, educational and training..
requirements for both programs, licensing and residency requirements, etc. are virtually the same across both programs. DOs are just as qualified to diagnose and treat patients as are MDs.

However, regardless of whether someone obtains a DO or an MD they can still...
be bad doctors or bad people. Dr. Oz has an utterly reprehensible history of spreading pseudoscience and Ben Carson is..well, he’s Ben Carson—they’re both Doctors of Medicine (MDs).
