Observe yourself. Observe others
SHORT Thread
Cont'd

1. Become observant
- View yourself as an entrepreneur (even if you are an engineer)
This will help your Reticular Activating System detect opportunities other don't see
(RAS = part of the brain that filters your perception)

Your brain has A SHIT TON of input every second
(2,000,000 bits)
But you can only consciously analyze 7 bits at a sec.
The input gets
- distorted (Confirmation Bias)
- generalized (you don't analyze every pixel of a photo, do you?)
- removed (cuz it's not important)

If you view yourself as an entrepreneur, your RAS will look for new business opportunities.
Opportunities you will miss out on if you are just an accountant
(An accountant doesn't care about selling cat necklaces. So why would his brain (his RAS) care about it?)

2. Which problems do YOU have?
Others have those problems, too.
Most (probably all) niche markets are a lot larger than we'd think.
Analyze all the problems you face in your day-to-day life
Analyze all the problems others encounter.

Which (niche) products have you bought?
Which (niche) products do you see other people buying/using/wearing?
Become an observant motherfucker.
(Side note: Will change your physiognomy, more specifically give you more narrow "Hunter eyes")

3. Not all problems are created equal.
Too small problems (that don't hurt enough) aren't worth solving. Not painful enough = won't spend money
People will always want solutions for the big 3 markets (money/status, love, health)

Just had this thought:
You could look on sites like http://flippa.com where people sell their online businesses
Filter for (rather cheap) blogs that rank high.
The creators of those blogs have probably done quite a bit of research.

They usually start blogs for micro-niches
Might give you some "inspiration"
If they make money, it looks like people will spend money to solve the problem.
(Quick disclaimer: I have not used this method personally. Just came to mind while writing this)

4. Regarding Saturation
By targeting a very specific target/type of person, you probably won't even have to worry about saturation.
(Remember, markets are bigger than you think)
Liked the thread? (Of course you did, let's not kid ourselves) RT the 1. tweet thx.
