It’s tough to learn about conspiracy theories when you just want to draw a simple line between the real stuff and the crazy fake stuff. I think it’s far more complex than this. https://twitter.com/abbieasr/status/1312512066071060480
This may be a broadly correct chart, but the methodology seems to be “is it acceptable to believe the conspiracy as a left liberal”. This chart effectively represents an ideological and claim more than a line of reasonaing based on a consistent standard. Qanon is fake tho.
For example: Bohemian Grove is a boring social event for rich people. Investments and politics are discussed of course, but it’s not even a real life conspiracy like Mockingbird or the Iraq War PR campaign.
Compare this to the NWO conspiracy. As antiSemitic and dumb as the NWO may be, it reflects the reality of globalization and the shift of power away from states to chambers of commerce, treaty courts, corporations etc. It contains a sizable kernel of truth.
Anyway this chart shows a competing political worldview to right wing conspiracy thinking rather than a principled, scientific worldview that stands on its own. As such, it’s not gonna convince nutjobs. The real alternative:
Historical Materialism all day, baby!
