The more centered and "at home" I've become in historic Christian orthodoxy, the more politically bipolar and homeless I've become in our cultural moment.
As a Jesus follower in America, I have no legitimate access to a political party that fights for *both* the life of the unborn child *and* the life of the caged child at the border.
As a Jesus follower in America, I have no legitimate access to a political party that cares deeply about *both* the scientific concerns about climate change *and* the economic health of society.
As a Jesus follower in America, I have no political party that *both* upholds historic Judeo-Christian one-man-one-woman marriage *and* looks LGBTQ ppl in the eyes, affirms their equal rights and value in society, and fully welcomes them into the ever-transforming family of Jesus
Followers of Jesus are not supposed to be centrists on the American political spectrum. Citizens of heaven inhabit another sphere entirely. This sphere must intersect the American political spectrum in unpredictable and profoundly offensive places, regardless of sides.
