There are a lot of senior people in this industry that literally have no idea what actually goes into the work carried out. I love that they qualify for such self-promotion and because of that attract a lot of followers. For what reason, who knows?!
Let’s take a minute to think about the people we should be following and taking notice of. Those we should be asking the questions to.
The likes of @InfoSum and their people. A position in the industry that is only going to land grab like no other in the coming year as technology tries to keep up without cookies.
I always say this, but @AvocetHQ and their CEO and CTO. You never hear from them, but they’re busy developing tools that major DSPs jump on and claim it’s theirs. It’s not. Incrementality was first made possible by Avocet. Fraud was excluded by Avocet.
Ezra, Kenneth, Simon... the love is real. You know this.
Mimi. Oh dear @MimiTurner01, you just have to hear her talk and you’re instantly aware of someone that knows the business. Cuts the shit and says it how it is.
@mattjbush for being a legend, and a good person overall. He doesn’t tweet media but knows this shit like the back of his hand.
David, Mark and now Emily. The Beeb hits some heroes, I tell ya. 2 have left now but I love them endlessly. Smart, polite, humble. Supportive. Exactly what you need.
@moni_natasha for being a hero and inspiration to her team at Twitter. Doesn’t attract too much attention but should demand it. You’re a hero.
@keano81 for rocking the boat. Not like me, but better. Drives change through actions she takes and initiatives she’s instigated. An inspiration for us all.
Some great people at Jungle. Mel being one of them. Clever, funny and driven. Dedicated too.
@LCBrennan for his work in just making things simple. For cutting the shit. Same goes for @MarcosAngelides on that note.
@DannyHopwood for remaining calm in all situations. Just applying common sense. Delivering solution after solution, consistently since the early days.
@jones_will has always been a gent and I’m glad to be working with him in some capacity here or there in the industry.
@MartinBeauchamp for being him. Uncompromising. Does the right thing. Very good at his job and great to have a pint with. I miss those Jesus pints.
I’d throw in Andre from Captify for that matter. God I love that guy.
@mjpmcintyre for knowing his shit and not buying rubbish. Being critical but fair.
@RyanSkeggsUK for his passion and ambition to sort this industry out and hold it to rights. I’m with you.
@aripap for actually knowing the ins and outs of technology to make things simpler and help people through a judgement of their own. Helping break down headlines.
Anyone that talks too much, probably isn’t worth listening to. Including me as this profile. You don’t hear a lot from me as me, but my clients fucking love me. My team fucking love me. My connections... well, they just want more budget.
I’m going to keep adding to this over the weeks as I remember more legends.
