how to treat your muslim moots

a thread that might help

firstly dont pressure them to do a face reveal or take pictures without their hijab (if they are hijabi NOT ALL MUSLIMS ARE HIJABI) but don’t ever just please don’t pressure them

muslims aren’t just brown, they vary in color it’s a religion not race, this is very important because i see people on my tl say “but you’re white” to many of my muslim moots so don’t judge them by color (which i shouldn’t be saying because it’s common knowledge)

muslims are one but divided into parts so when one type of muslim is having a religious event or celebration and one isn’t don’t call them a fake muslim or ask them why THEY aren’t celebrating

please don’t use emoji casually this emoji is represented on how we pray so if you use it when you type “gimme “ or something like that don’t it is represented of how muslims pray so please refrain from using it

some people when some one is supposed to be attacked you called them t!rror*st please don’t.. as a muslim i don’t even use that word because it’s so hurtful so please just don’t use that word and throw it around

if a muslim makes a grammar mistake or you don’t understand what they’re saying dont attack them for it because it’s not their fault, english isn’t our first language try to understand that

also it’s kind of annoying when y’all tell us to tell you what your name means in arabic or say something in arabic

(i read arabic but i don’t understand every word but that’s only because i memorize the quran)

also if you’re not muslims don’t use arabic fonts in your dn or to spell your name because they’re some times different meanings to those words so if you want to maybe ask one of your moots to help you or confirm to them if it’s okay (not me i don’t know a lot of arabic)

don’t always accept muslims to be active on certain times so if you’re holding streaming parties be considerate to add timings that might suit us because we pray 5 times a day and don’t be mad if one of your moots isn’t active at that time

also please please please this is the last thing some muslims fast at some times in between the year to redeem fast they missed during ramadan so if you know one of your moots is fasting
place a warning in your tweets or tell them to mute you (this makes us feel so accepted)

i am not speaking on behalf of every muslim on this app but i know that we all agree on some of the stuff mentioned in this thread
