1. I ❤️ art blogs. But @ArtNet and @ArtNews - who the hell cares about what auction houses are doing to make more money for themselves?!??? No more auction, top tens, best booths, art fair, highest price, mega-gallery news! Make it all reviews of non-mega shows at non mega. C’mon
2. There’s almost no criticism - other than of big megas and hip museums. You are letting galleries wither while they pay you $ to advertise too. Galleries are fighting for their lives right now; galleries are fighting for the lives of their artists right now.
You can really help
3. Critics, please step up; write reviews of shows. Not all this other stuff which has nothing whatsoever to do with art! You can’t just have older critics and geezers like me doing that!!!! (And my idiot Instagram.)
We can’t stay up late enough to know what you know.
4. Critics make no money anyway. This means that you are 100% free to write whatever you WANT to write. You are now freedom-machines.

You have to rise. You are so good. Put it to good use. Not all about money and lifestyle and mega-galleries. They will be fine without you.
5. You will be invited to their parties either way. Rise. Editors, do this.

Art first; all else will follow.

There will be 50 articles on auctions and megas before there is one lousy review of a gallery or artist your own age, guys! Why?!?!
6. Every artist and gallerist here who has had a show totally ignored by critics around their own age - knows this. But they cannot come out and say this‼️
We all love gossip, though, and it’s fine to keep posting articles spanking me for whatever.

You know I love you art world.
PS. It seems I am too old to know how to get twitter-threads to post in order. I reach out from the inside ...
