After that story published, I got a call from a Republican lawmaker who asked me whether Alaskans are really concerned about COVID, or if Democrats are just trying to stir things up ahead of the election.

I told him that it doesn't really matter. The state of Alaska has recommended that Alaskans wear masks, avoid crowds, and keep their distance.

Here, we're seeing the state's policymakers — legislators and members of @GovDunleavy's cabinet failing to follow the state's own recommendations.

I think that's worth pointing out.
