After the main part with speeches was over, a crowd of young men tried to break through the gates of the White House that houses both parliament and the presidential office.
Bishkek cont. To disperse the crowd, the riot police used tear gas, water cannons, and flash-bang grenades. Right now, the central square is cleared, only riot police remain

WOW. At about 3 a.m. Bishkek time, the protesters entered the territory of the White House, which houses both parliament and the presidential office. There's another 16-second video showing a protester climbing over the gate.

INSANE. After taking over the White House, protesters headed to the National Security Committee, entered its building & released ex-president Almazbek Atambayev. Somehow politician Sadyr Japarov has also been set free. Both had been sentenced to 11+ years

Sputnik posted a video of Atambayev greeted by the crowd after the release.

His son, Kadyr, who ran for parliament w/ his jailed's father's slightly rebranded Social Democratic party, was seen among the protesters who entered the White House earlier.
President Jeenbekov is in Bishkek, his press secretary said, @kloopnews reported. He was at his office until 2 a.m.

He is supposed to meet with leaders of 16 parties in about 4 hours, at 9 a.m. Bishkek time.
