Too many of you are confused about your class status. If you can’t afford to miss a paycheck, you’re the working poor, and part of the 80% of Americans living paycheck to paycheck. If you HAVE to work to survive, you’re working class.
The middle class is basically gone, and y’all are being used as a tool against working class and poor people. Most of y’all are one major emergency away from poverty. Get some class solidarity and stop protecting the rich, we should eat them instead.
I’m adding to this thread because some of y’all are mad at me, when you should be mad at the system. I know I am, as I’m a working class person that isn’t embarrassed to be one. This was in 2018, pre COVID, where 40+million are now jobless. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/jul/29/us-economy-workers-paycheck-robert-reich">https://www.theguardian.com/commentis...
Another one in 2019. Y’all outcha living fake ass lives and rather than face the truth, you’re pretending. It’s unfortunate, but a you problem, because I don’t lie to myself and I’m not ashamed of being working class. I didn’t create this system. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.usnews.com/news/the-report/articles/2019-01-11/stretched-thin-majority-of-americans-live-paycheck-to-paycheck%3Fcontext%3Damp">https://www.google.com/amp/s/www...
Oh, here’s an article explaining how 44% of U.S. workers are employed in low-wage jobs that pay median annual wages of $18,000. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/minimum-wage-2019-almost-half-of-all-americans-work-in-low-wage-jobs/">https://www.google.com/amp/s/www...
50 percent of wage earners had net compensation less than or equal to the median wage, which is estimated to be $32,838.05 for 2018. Y’all can lie all you want on Twitter but numbers don’t lie. https://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/netcomp.cgi?year=2018">https://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/n...
In 2018, billionaires paid a smaller portion of their income in taxes than average Americans. Billionaires paid 23% of their income in federal, state, and local taxes in 2018. The average American, meanwhile, paid 28%. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.businessinsider.com/american-billionaires-paid-less-taxes-than-working-class-wealth-gap-2019-10%3Famp">https://www.google.com/amp/s/www...
None of this should be a surprise. Sanders ran two entire presidential campaigns on income inequality in 2016 and 2020. Even Elizabeth Warren ran her 2020 campaign on this. Like I said, get some damn class solidarity, because we’re only going to get poorer if change doesn’t come.
About four out of 10 Americans said they had enough in savings to cover a surprise $500 expense. Another 21 percent said they would rely on a credit card. Again, this was 2017 Pre-COVID. I’m sure it’s worse now. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/most-americans-cant-afford-a-500-emergency-expense/">https://www.google.com/amp/s/www...
Don’t get mad at me for exposing a rotting system. Get mad at the people who created and continue to profit off the system. It’s why I lol at Brunch Twitter and your social media “extravagant lives” IG & FB posts. I know y’all lying. Pretending like hell and living fake lives.
