Maybe the reason why we’re confused what the appropriate term for house help is is because the whole occupation is dehumanizing.

It’s a noble job. But in a just and moral society, no one should live to look after other people’s private/personal property for survival.
Each individual has potential to contribute for the communal development of a society. No one should be treated as other people’s property (stay-in, full-time in ph context, kahit may sahod pa ‘yan)
Isipin niyo root cause. Some people live in excess. You build houses you can’t maintain. Then hire someone who needs resources to work for you.

Humanizing jobs isn’t just about wages and working conditions, but the societal worth of that occupation as well.
then don’t come after this post nitpicking occupations like caregiving, or babysitting in daycare centers because these are essential occupations.

We’re looking at the bigger picture: DOMESTIC HELP. Try to understand the social structures that gave rise to domestic help.
We need community day care centers where kids can do interactive play essential to their development

We need community-based palliative care providers for our elders

We need working conditions kung san pag-uwi ng mga magulang sa bahay ay may panahon sila na itaguyod ang tahanan
