I understand the reasoning behind this but I really do not like the common dating app feature where if u select a non-binary gender it then asks u if u would like to be seen by people looking for men or women. I would ONLY like to be seen by people looking for nonbinary folks
Like, yes, even nonbinary folks can be (crudely and inappropriately) described as presenting either masculine or feminine, but frankly I find choosing either option uncomfortable. I don’t like picking men because I don’t like my gender being depicted as man light &
I can’t pick women because I do not present feminine enough for it to not be incredibly obvious I don’t belong in that search category. Furthermore my gender expression is largely androgynous and so either option is, at its best, reductive
Actually I got all the way through this thread & realized, no, I don’t understand the reasoning behind this feature. It sucks and it’s lazy. I’m going to bed
