(going the fighting days two weeks in a row?? lol) ok it’s probably just me & my horrible hearing haha but when i found out how iconic this song has become for many japanese fans of the series (thanks to asanuma shintaro!) i gave it another shot & finally warmed up to it lol

if you’re an older fan im sure you’ve heard of this but in a web show, asanuma (kuramochi’s VA) made fun of this song multiple times by singing gibberish bcos he doesnt know the english lyrics lol he turned it to “going the fai fing fong~ fai fing fong~” and it got so popular -

that the song eventually became known as the “fai fing fong song” and oishi, the singer, was given the nickname “fai fing fong sensei” by the fans when oishi got married this yr, hanae natsuki greeted him on twitter and added “fai fing fong” at the end & the fans were like -

“thats so nostalgic!” LMAO

when oishi went to the show, asanuma and hatano (masuko-sempai VA) apologized to him (in a lighthearted manner ofc) but oishi said he’s actually thankful bcos “fai fing fong” has turned into a “movement” HAHAHA

so asa-nii asked if there’s a trick to singing english songs, and oishi said he was actually told not to pronounce the words too clearly bcos it’s a morning show and children watch it

(ok tbh i absolutely DO NOT AGREE with this; if they know there are children watching, then-

they should have been more careful bcos children copy everything )

anyway oishi also said he knows why ppl are confused; it’s bcos the opening sequence doesnt contain the lyrics; apparently it was the production’s decision bcos it’s cooler & ppl can focus more on the animation
