My father started feeling pain in one of his kidneys so after consulting with his dr, he went for xrays and ultrasound. The ultrasound dr told him his one kidney has two stones that require surgery right away and the other was shrinking which may lead to dialysis.

It was obviously worrisome for us. He himself was shook. I took the appointment for a urologist the next day since the best nephrologist I could find wasn't available. The urologist told us there was nothing to worry about and it was a misdiagnosis.

(2)
He told us the shrinkage wasn't there and there's only one tiny stone which doesn't require surgery. He still prescribed all the tests possible since we were so worried. The tests came back normal but my father wanted to go to a 'senior' consultant in Liaquat National.

Apparently, this senior dr is the best nephrologist in Karachi. I booked an appointment a week ago. Our time was in between 9-10 am. We were told to reach there 20 min earlier which we did. Upon arrival, we're told the dr comes downstairs at 9:45 am.

Typical unprofessional attitude of our doctors, I showed my annoyance and started waiting. He came in at 10:30 am when his OPD starts at 9 am and attended my father for 4 min. 4 FUCKING MINUTES. Now read about those 4 minutes.

He didn't bother to greet. Fine. He didn't bother to even ask him what's wrong. His resident gave him a quick history which she didn't even take properly. He asked this to his resident, "Yeh karne kya aye hain yahan pe?" when my father and I were sitting there.

He asked just one question about difficulty in urination, didn't bother to see scans aur bus. I asked him if the shrinkage is alarming or what for which he replied, "70 age hai inki, is umar mein kidneys itni bhi function kar rahi hain shukar karain"

1. He was unprofessional to the core
2. He had no civility as to how to talk and communicate with an elderly patient
3. He was behaving like he was treating my father for free

I not only complained in the hospital, I have sent them an email with all the details.

This is the height of unprofessionalism that a senior consultant is showing in one of the biggest hospitals in the country and I am sure there's no one to take care of this. And this is not the only case. I can guarantee many will relate to what happened with me today.

The patients you are seeing are your CLIENTS not some peasants. They are paying you for your time and service. If you can't shove your attitude up your butt, maybe you should burn your degree.

Not today but soon I am going to make sure people get to rate these bastards

They know one complaint isn't going to make any difference in their business but multiple complaints will. People in Pakistan just don't have the platform to let others know of their experiences.

I hope he rots in hell.
The consultant's name is Kanwar Naveed and he practices in Liaquat National, Karachi.

Many asked me to name him so I am doing it. I have already raised my complaint through hospital's proper channel and will not let it slide easily.

Thank you all for your prayers :)
