Some ladies are monsters and abusers covered with human skin. I witnessed a case of assault at a bank in Akure this morning- a thread @alexlobaloba @AkureHowFar @YemieFASH @mclayor
So this lady and a guy were both on the queue to use the ATM and something led to anotjer and they started a causal Naija argument- they were fighting for space. The argument quickly escalated into a verbal abuse and people tried to intervene.
Next thing AUNTY gave the guy a slap

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👋" title="Waving hand" aria-label="Emoji: Waving hand">. As usual people were telling the guy not to touch her. Why? Because she’s a woman. So, the female gender can hit a male and go scot free.
Rather than apologize, she called her dad to report the case, even though her mom was right there with her (the mom excused herself after her daughter gave the guy the second slap)
Eventually the bank had to call the police to take her away. To my surprise, the lady was resisting arrest and the policemen couldn’t do anything- they would have rough-handled the perpetrator if it were a guy. I suspect they would beg the guy and ask him to let it slide.
Who will speak for the male gender? Is the advocacy for gender equality by the female folks not an advocacy for gender privileges in disguise? Why shouldn’t the guy slap her back? Who told us it’s okay for a lady to physically assault a man but the man mustn’t retaliate?
I’m not advocating for assaults, verbal or physical. But I think what goes around should come around. The advocacy for gender equality will begin to make sense when the female folk begin to take responsibility for her actions. Imagine if it was the guy that slapped her?
