@P_H_S_Official has published findings from their #COVID19 EY's resilience & impact survey (CEYRIS) which aims to find out how kids (2–7 years) in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿have been affected by #COVID19.

Here are some thoughts on the "Play & learning, outdoors & social interactions" Report. 1/6
Key findings - generally #ActivePlay (indoors), #OutdoorPlay and visits to #GreenSpace were reported to be fairly high (*as reported by parents). However, social interactions were low with 93% of children not attending any sort of childcare or education setting. 2/
Great, so kids may have engaged in #ActivePlay & #OutdoorPlay during lockdown. But, it's the combination of movement from active outdoor play AND the social interactions with peers that are likely to generate the wide-ranging physical, cognitive, social & emotional benefits. 3/
Yes, most kids may have a caregiver or sibling to play with, but those peer interactions are really important. We need to understand what the longer-term impact of the reduced social interactions on children is. 4/
Important to note that the survey was not nationally representative & had a small sample from a lower socioeconomic status.

We know that there was inequality in play space available for children with those living in flats having no or limited access to a garden. 5/
** Findings were also self-reported by parents so we should interpret the data with caution.
