— France has peace around its borders while India faces two militarily-active neighbours. One that has deep hatred for us culturally and religiously while the other just waits for a chance to bulldoze us so it can fulfil its dream of being the sole superpower.

— France doesn’t have political parties that enjoy fruits of power by sucking up to Muslims while in India this has been the most prevalent form of politics for decades - Shah Bano, Ishrat Jahan, ‘Muslims have first right on resources’, visit dargah and wear topi.

— France doesn’t have political parties that will push the nation into communal riots - Godhra, Delhi, Bangalore - just to give ‘voice’ to Muslims and secure their vote-bank whereas in India many parties do this and we still keep voting for them (Mamata, Kejriwal).

— France doesn’t have an embedded communal history that impacts the psyche of resident Muslims. In India the Partition sowed seeds for permanent religious discord and, more crucially, left many Muslims living in India in hatred of our land and people.

— France doesn’t have an influential media and movie industry that has done everything in its power to glorify not just one section of the society but even Muslim invaders that has resulted in the majority Hindus possessing greater respect for them than their own religion.

— Since 2015, over 20 terrorist attacks have occurred in France killing 250 people and injuring over 900. In India under Narendra Modi terrorism has vanished from our heartland because the government has clamped down on homegrown extremists.

— CAA, criminalising triple talaq, abrogating 370, YA as CM of UP, and actions like NRC, UCC, population control bill and anti-conversion bill are in the works. All these point to a clear direction of Modi-Shah who’ve faced the brunt of the ecosystem for decades.

— Despite the concocted up anti-Muslim image that Narendra Modi came into power with he has had to manage ties with Muslim nations as that’s crucial to India’s geopolitical progress - not to his own image. This is an impediment no other world leader faces.

— In just one year of Modi 2.0 we’ve seen the abrogation of 370, CAA (civilisational move) and Ram Mandir. The government has had to deal with the Delhi riots, then Corona, and now China. The pressures and obstacles are endless and overwhelming. Time for unconditional support.

Criticise, even Narendra Modi himself invites criticism. But it must be on the bases of facts and logical comparisons, not sweeping statements. And if we expect everything to be hunky-dory in 6 years after 60 years of rut then that won’t happen. Unreal expectations.

As far as guts are concerned, there’s no two individuals who’ve more of that than Modi and Shah. They’ve been terrorised by the ecosystem, targeted by terrorist organisations, threatened each day, and yet they’ve stuck to their paths — not for themselves — but for India
