tw // self harm mentions

a thread of some of my favorite mental health apps, or apps that are a good distraction when you need it! please rt/like so others can see them too!
CALM HARM — app store & google play

this is my favorite app i've had so far, it helps to prevent self-harm & stop urges. there's options for different activities; comfort, distract, express yourself, release and breathe. overall it helps a lot and i think you should try it out!
WHATS UP? — app store & google play

this app is targeted for those with anxiety, depression and stress. like calm harm, it has activities & breathing exercises. it's also great because it gives you more information on how to cope with different issues, recommended by therapists!
MINDSHIFT — app store & google play

this app is targeted towards those with anxiety. it gives a lot of information on what anxiety is, comes from, how to overcome fears & so much more. it helps you to understand how to realize what you are feeling and how to help.
DAYLIO JOURNAL — app store & google play

this app focuses on journaling and tracking how your day goes. this is just a personal choice if you want to keep track of your days and moods, but this is the one i recommend! you can also add notes on how your days gone if you choose!
SAYANA — app store

this app is built for emotional check-ins, and the character you talk to is almost like a therapist. she'll help you to try and sort out what's going on as you talk to her with coping techniques and extra info!
I AM SOBER — app store and google play

you probably are familiar with this one, it tracks addictions like self-harm and a lot more. it gives you motivation as well as being able to connect with people struggling as well. you can also find support near you if you choose to!
FLORA — app store

this app focuses on helping you focus! i wouldn't exact say it helps with mental health, but i think it's a great app if you are needing to spend time on yourself like studying, taking a walk, or just being without your phone. the app sets a timer, and it's +
+ like planting a seed for a tree. it's giving you that time away from your phone to focus on yourself and what needs to be done. and if you get through the time, you can help plant real trees! i don't exactly know how much time you need to plant a tree but i think it's great!
now onto some apps that are just good distractions & can keep you at ease!
RELAX MELODIES — app store & google play

i'll be honest when i say i use this every night. you can make custom sound tracks with the sound options they have, such as birds, rain, wind, piano, thunder & a lot more. it's amazing to keep you calm to sleep, or to calm you down! +
there's also meditation and story options in the app, which i have not tried yet, but it is a great option to look into as well!
TERRARIUM — app store & google play

this is a fun garden idle game for anyone! you tap the plants to level them up and to get more. i think it's a great distraction for those with anxiety, and good when you need to fidget and move. plus the design is super good!!
CUT THE ROPE — app store & google play

i'm sure we've all played this at some time as a kid, and it was pretty fun! it takes strategy and a lot of thinking, which is great for focusing to forget about worrying and anything else. it's a good game and a good distraction!
WHERE'S MY WATER — app store & google play

another game for kids that we probably know, and it's basically the same type like cut the rope. you try to get the water to the croc by digging the dirt! it's a really fun distraction if you need it!
i'm just going to list off some more games that could help! (available on both app store & google play)

— neko atsume
— stack
— 2048
— splashy!
— my oasis
— tape it up
— fidget widget - keep scrolling
that's it for now, but keep in mind NONE of these are replacements for a real therapist or talking to a professional! i just understand that at this moment not everyone can and it's good to try and get help in anyway possible! i hope these helped some people, and if it +
+ didn't, please retweet so maybe it could find someone else that needs something like this! if you have any more apps or games that have helped you, feel free to share! remember that you're not alone, you never are. if you need someone to talk to i'm here as well. take care!
