Doctors now say that—based on Trump's treatment—he may not be in a position to make decisions impacting national security.

Consider how dangerous this is in the 4 weeks before an election where Trump has many options to flip the script, including interceding in a war in Armenia.
I fear we're heading toward a wall at 60 MPH. Trump will not relinquish control to Pence under any circumstances. Pence will not seek to unilaterally take control under any circumstances. Trump can't make decisions, but also desperately needs to do something to save his campaign.
It occurred to me today that the man in the middle of all this—who knows Trump can't keep this election/health scam up for 30 days, but also knows power can't be rested from Trump—is Mark Meadows. Here's the position NBC caught Meadows in today when he thought no one was looking:
I believe that very soon Trump's bag of media tricks will be empty, and America will be confronted with the prospect of a small group of people on Team Trump having run (with Trump) an election fraud to lie to American voters about Trump's health and ability to lead this country.
The signs are there. Two photos taken 10 minutes apart in which Trump is dressed in different clothes and sitting in different rooms with the same props arranged in a new pattern. Were those photos supposed to be released together—or a week apart? What other explanation is there?
At this point all we know is that a tsunami of deceit has been weaponized against American voters, and that the core facts of Trump's illness and treatment appear to suggest that he is very unwell—and currently unable to lead the country were a national security crisis to arise.
We also know that a man with Trump's medical history, facing this sort of illness, can't keep up the charade of "doing fine" for 30 days. We know this illness would put someone in Trump's demographic on their ass for about 45 days, minimum. So something has to give here and soon.
At some point the term "election fraud" is going to start to be used. At some point it's going to seem like there's a conspiracy inside Team Trump trying to *commit* that election fraud, led by the president. At some point the cries for the 25th Amendment are going to get louder.
And all of this happens against the backdrop of a SCOTUS nom GOP brass would do anything—and I mean literally anything—to keep on track, including participate in election fraud. Trump's illness—in itself a tragedy—could very quickly morph into the worst scandal of his presidency.
SOURCE/ This is a very, *very* well-respected doctor saying this—and he's not the only one. Read the whole thread at the link below. https://twitter.com/Bob_Wachter/status/1312845442464407552?s=19
TYPO/ It is, of course, "wrested," not "rested." Just a mistype. Apologies.
SOURCE2/ This whole piece is incredible, but if you read to the bottom you get to the section that discusses the effecs of extended steroid use on mental capacity.

That's where things really get terrifying. https://twitter.com/washingtonpost/status/1312910391807217665?s=19
