Optimistic, yet realistic look at what the #Flyers 2020-2021 opening night roster could be:

Remaining signings: đź“ť
Nolan Patrick > 2x1.00M
Phil Myers > 2x2.75M

Frost to replace Patty if he can’t go to start the year & Hagg probably starts over Freidman.

@CapFriendly
This lineup assumes no moves are made and the Flyers run it back letting all UFAs go unsigned.

Patric’s leverage is borderline non-existent, especially in a flat-cap world. A two-year bridge deal allows him to prove his value and prove to the Flyers brass he can remain healthy.
If Patty is unable to go to start the year, the hope is a longer off-season allows Frost to become physically more mature & force his way on the roster as 3C.

He showed flashes of elite skill last season, and without a potential AHL season letting Frost sit idle seems unlikely.
Myers’ bridge deal is a little different. I’d hope Fletcher & Co. are considering a long-term deal, but with a flat-cap & little room that seems unlikely.

If cap space is created, the Flyers’ patient approach to his RFA negotiations may allow that deal to come to fruition.
In terms of the lineup, changes over the year are to be expected.

Lindblom may start on the 3rd/4th line until AV is confident he’s ready for top-6 minutes & PK duty again.

Hagg likely starts over Freidman, but we know the Ghost-Hagg pair is a visual & analytical nightmare.
With a strong camp & preferred handiness (RHD) Friedman could force his way into the starting lineup and that’s the hope of all Flyers fans I imagine.

Moose was also recently re-upped @ $1.5M, taking a $500k haircut. Despite winning some big games last season, especially in...
Hart’s absence, the Flyers will need stronger production from a SV% & GAA standpoint.

Again, the flat-cap & existing relationship with Hart played a strong role in bringing him back and only time will tell if it was the right decision.

Let’s hope it was.
Now let’s talk about the 13F. Belief it or not it’s a highly contentious spot given the Chris Stewart fiasco last season.

13F can end up playing 20-30 games in a season, so it’s important the player can add value when inserted into the lineup.

I chose Linus Sandin for....
