Let's talk about 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' (1/4):

This film became a change of pace for the MCU falling more in the spy-thriller genre.

Full of dread & suspense, this film puts to test Steve's beliefs, allowing him to redefine who Captain America really is.

In order to allow Cap's change, this film relies on 2 main themes:

- The necessity of true human connections in our lives
- The reconstruction of societal structures that were based on totalitarianism.

Which, for Cap, translates into the following:

On a personal level, this movie is about reconnecting Rodgers with his beliefs, but more importantly, with his human relationships.

For this to happen, the film tests Steve on a philosophical level by making him realize that even Shield is based on a corrupt structure.

These themes force Cap to go on a journey to rediscover who he is & trusts.

He realizes that complete order is not the answer to complete chaos, resulting in him leaving his B&W mentality from WW2, by adapting his moral code to a morally ambiguous & complex world.
