so I've noticed a problem (kinda) on tff twt about us romanticizing treatment for mental health like psych wards and stuff like that. as the resident mental ward survivor, I'd like to say that it's not an experience you'd want to have. (1/4)

therapy? absolutely, despite being difficult, it can help so much to have a good therapist. But rtc's and mental hospitals are fucking terrible and are a last choice option. the trauma associated with- (2/4)

involuntary hospitalization is something I and many other survivors of the corporatized mental health system still strugle with today. hell, I still occasionally have nightmares about trying to escape from them. (3/4)
