I see some folks chiding the US public for not paying attention to Nagorno-Karabakh, but 1) you may have noticed we've got some sh*t going on over here and 2) I'm just not sure that the US has core interests here?

Particularly to my Russian/Russianist colleagues: this is very important and serious, but it really shouldn't come as a surprise or even be grounds for criticism that USAmericans just do not know any details here; we're playing catchup as best we can

I'm reminded about how the trolls for the Internet Research Agency had to be introduced to the sophisticated concept of a "purple state" in US electoral politics. Stuff that's basic to you may be esoteric to everyone else....
